It did it’s very best to make the billows smooth and bright.
Well, with no updates in over a month, it would be a safe guess to say that I’ve been very busy. Indeed, work has been keeping me occupied. I finally have started getting Saturdays off, which makes life much more bearable. I occasionally even have time to do things I want (other than eat and sleep, which I both enjoy greatly). On the upside, I’m finding that I have muscles I never knew existed.
Yesterday Emma had a birthday party *slash* Alice in Wonderland tea party. I went as the Cheshire Cat, and I even whipped out my awesome tie with dodo birds on it. The Smiths went as the March Hare and the White Rabbit; they were adorable in their matching bunny ears. While I missed the croquet and the actual tea (I was hosting Bible study), the cake and the movie were a lot of fun.
I saw a car with a “Republicans for Voldemort” bumper sticker. Pretty awesome, if you ask me. Also saw a car with the licence plate “nekobus,” which is perhaps even more awesome. Totoro’s a delightful movie, even if it is not quite as serious or allegorical as, say, Princess Mononoke. I have been meaning to see Paprika, however. It looks amazing, and if it’s anything like Satoshi Kon’s other films/series, then it is sure to be a classic.
I’m excited for the 4th of July holiday. I get Wednesday (and maybe even Thursday and Friday) off of work. The fireworks are tomorrow night, and the parade is Wednesday at noon. By some stroke of luck I have the house to myself until Thursday. Hopefully Austin and some of his friends will come to the fireworks and parade here. They were going to go to Summerfest Wednesday after the parade. I don’t think I know any of the bands that are playing, but it’s a cheap concert, and I’m looking forward to spending the 4th with some of my friends.
