For the rain it raineth every day.
I just finished The Golden Age by John Wright. It was absolutely incredible. If you like sci-fi, I strongly recommend this book. Now I have to read the two sequels! It’s mind-expanding in a completely legal way.
Tonight is a “blue moon,” where there are two full moons in one month. This only happens once every two and a half years, or once in a blue moon.
I’m spinning mace on Sunday with past DHS drum majors and Dreebs and Bart, the future ones. I’m very excited to get my mace back out; I missed it a lot.

This is not ‘Nam. This is bowling. There are rules.
Well, I sure have a lot to post. Kevin’s visit was great; we did a lot of cool things. We went downtown and walked through the whole Art Institute. “American Gothic” was on display, which was pretty cool. We saw Millennium Park and wend to Myopic Books. My third grade cousin just read Charolette’s Web in school, and she sent us a cutout of a spider to take pictures of doing fun things in our town, so we took the spider all over Chicago taking pictures. It was adorable.
ACen was a whole lot of fun. It was great to see a lot of my friends for the first time there. My costume turned out amazing. I was really proud of it, and wore it all Friday and Saturday. I had nine pictures taken of me, which was awesome! There was also a photoshoot for the .hack people, so I got a lot of pictures taken there in a group. Kristy dressed like Seras Victoria and Matt as Pip, both from Hellsing. Their costumes turned out really nice as well. Hopefully I’ll wind up posting all my ACen photos on Facebook if I have the time at some point.
I started work at Clesen Wholesale last Monday. They sell plants to other nurseries, garden centers, and landscapers. Coincidentally, I ended up loading an order for the mother of one of my good friends who does garden design out of her home. The work is really tough. I’m working from 6:30 to around 5:30 Mondays through Saturday (yes, I’m working Saturdays), and most of what I’m doing is moving plants around, unpacking them from boxes, and loading and unloading carts of plants from trucks. I wake up, go to work, come home, eat diner, and go to bed. That’s literally all I did this week. It’s probably the hardest I’ve ever worked. I’m pretty much stiff all over. Even my fingers are sore. How often do you get to say that? I’m getting $10/hr though, and by the end of the summer I’m going to be ripped and have an awesome farmer’s tan.
Congratulations to Bart and Dreebs for making drum major for DHS. I’m really excited to come back and see them do their thing next fall. I’m also looking forward to hanging out and spinning mace with them and other past DHS drum majors this summer. I missed my mace all year; it’ll be nice to get those bruises and cuts back.

Is it can be hugs tiem now plz?
So I’m finally back home. It’s really great to be done with finals and back in my room. I’ve even almost finished unpacking. I just have too many books. Scratch that, I have too little shelf space. My clothes are all away, though, and that’s something. I’m still working on getting a job this summer. Who knew it could be this stressful/difficult? Actually, I could have foreseen this. My friend’s dad was talking to a friend of his to get me a job at a greenhouse. Hopefully that will follow through.
I’m very excited for Kevin to come. He’s getting in around 3:30 tomorrow. I have some cool things planned for his visit. He’s here through next Monday, so that gives us time to do things in addition to the convention. I have a number of restaurants and places we need to visit. The con’s going to be incredible. I’m really excited to show off my Tsukasa costume; I worked really hard on it.
I guess it’s just really nice not to have anything hanging over my head (except for the job). It’s hard to believe that last week I was drowning under nine papers, and now I have nothing going on. It’s an incredible feeling. Sorry to all of you in school. You only have a little while longer, though! The summer’s going to be great.
